Pimms at the ready chaps, Wimbledon is back! Even if tennis isn’t really your cup-of-tea, who doesn’t love the idea of eating strawberries and having a little tipple in the sunshine*? Of course there’s the go-to classic lemonade/fruit combo, but if you fancy trying something a little bit different, we’ve got some alternatives to pimp your Pimm’s this summer!
*Sunshine never guaranteed
Spice it up
We’ll start off simple – just swap your lemonade for ginger beer for little extra kick to your punch.
Method (to make by the glass, or a jug)
- Mix one part Pimm’s with 3 parts ginger beer
- Finish with lemon, cucumber, apple, and fresh mint
The Murray
In celebration of the Scottish superstar.
Method (makes 1 glass)
- 1 ½ measures of Pimm’s
- ⅔ measure of Scotch whiskey
- Good squeeze of lemon juice
- Top with lemonade
G&P
The humble gin and tonic has a new pal…
Method (makes 1 glass)
- 1 measure of Pimm’s
- 1 measure of gin
- Top with lemonade
- Finish with a slice of lemon and a couple of strawberries

Slushy-P
Lemon sorbet is the magic ingredient for this boozy take on the childhood classic. They may look fancy but they’re a doddle to make – perfect for impressing your pals at a barbecue.
Method (makes 1 glass)
- 1 measure of Pimm’s
- Add sliced strawberries and cucumber*
- Add 2 scoops of lemon sorbet and mix
- Top with soda water
- Finish with some mint leaves
*Tip: create fancy looking cucumber “ribbons” by using a peeler
Power Punch
Ideal for parties and bigger gatherings, this one is really simple to throw together, and it certainly (terrible pun alert) packs a punch. Be warned, a few glasses of this and there’s a good chance your Auntie Barbara will be dancing on the table. A couple more and you’ll probably be joining her…
Method (makes loads)
- 1 bottle of Pimm’s
- 1 bottle of Bourbon
- ¼ bottle of sweet vermouth
- ¼ bottle of white rum
- 1 bottle of prosecco (or sparkling wine of choice)
- 300ml of orange juice
- Finish with sliced strawberries, peaches, pineapple and cherries
